Two studies from Zhaoming Wu & just some thumbs playing around with color, no real goals in mind for them other than take a few colors and make them work.
Slightly older studies that I never put on here, Ruan Jia (dude spends forever on one painting, I gave myself an hour max) & an unfinished Ruo Li study. Posting everything just for posterity's sake.
I want to see more of those really loose gestural figures at the top.
ReplyDeleteTechnically, you could combine two studies in one by making the figure accurately and then skewing the color into crazy land. I know it's less about accuracy in terms of the color, but it could look really nice as a finished product.
Regardless, things are definitely looking up.

He's traditionally an oil painter, but he does really nice digital pieces using the same techniques.
